Erik Andriesse - An ambitious artist
Erik Andriesse (1957–1993) was an ambitious and virtuoso artist. Headstrong as he was, he paid little attention to trends and followed his own fascinations and belief in the power of painting. Andriesse opted for figuration and direct observation, with nature at the core of his work.Flowers played a leading role in this: especially amaryllises and sunflowers, but also lilies, orchids, and poppies.
