Jan Adam Zandleven (Koog aan de Zaan 18638 – Rhenen 1923) was an autodidact. He worked as a paint maker in his father’s shop. But his love for creating art was so strong, that in 1901, after he received endorsements from Gabriels as well as Israels, he decided to devote his life to painting.
