About Rob Graafland
Rob Graafland was born in 1875 in Maastricht. Lateron, Graafland moved to Amsterdam and attended the Academy. After his studies, Rob Graafland became a teacher and taught drawing in 1898 at the Stadteekeninstituut in Maastricht. His work is characterized by a bright and zingy use of colour and an impressionist brush stroke. In order to enhance children’s drawing talents, he co-founded the Sunday school for Decorative Arts.
