The title of this impressive oil painting 'There is no one here, the gardener is gone.' is a quote from the apocalyptic song 'ain't talkin' by Bob Dylan.
Dialogue with nature
Mulders says about it: 'In the garden, due to the persistent rain and the dark atmospheres on the world stage, there has been a different dialogue with nature for me since September '23, a stuttering dialogue, the garden is flooding, and on the world stage the deluge looks like already taking place.In my attempts to paint the joys of my garden in these evil times, it seems that the loving caring gardener (God) – who has always accompanied me in the garden and in the flower fields and in the studio – has created 'the mystic garden' abandoned (and the world stage).
Inspiration to paint
Yet, the emerging irises, lilies, roses and other floral wonders in my garden conjure up a melody that inspires painting, hope.Mulders has abstracted the flowers he sees from his studio into a colorful composition full of details. The paint is thick on the canvas in this exciting and dynamic work. A swirling energy radiates from the beautiful painting!
