About Jan Zoetelief Tromp

Johannes Zoetelief (Jan) Tromp (Batavia, 13 December 1872 – Breteuil, 28 September 1947) work concentrated mostly on sunny beach scenes with children playing in the sand, as well as every day scenes from fishing and farming life. Stylewise as well as  subject-wise, there is a certain kinship with the Hague School, albeit Zoetelief Tromp’s works are brighter and more colourful.
