About Pieter Kluyver
Pieter Kluyver (Amsterdam 1816-1900) lived and worked in Amsterdam. During his career he moved to Amersfoort and returned to Amsterdam lateron, in 1883. Kluyver had the gift of capturing sunlight in his paintings. He painted landscapes, forestscapes as well as merry winter scenes. The winterscapes are highly sought after. Paintings by Kluyver are wide-spread in both private and public collections, such as in the Groninger Museum and the Haags Gemeentemuseum.
