Albert Roosenboom – also known as Albert Rausenbaum – was a student of the well-known Belgian painter and sculptor Emile Meunier. Roosenboom preferred to paint domestic genre scenes. Elegant women and children usually play the leading role in this. In addition to their artistic quality, these paintings are also appreciated for the image they give of fashion, interior design and everyday life in the second half of the 19th century. From 1869 Albert Roosenboom took part in exhibitions in Brussels, Ghent and London.
